Abstract

|
In the South Korean context, the aid to health, within the structure of the official development assistance (ODA) is not under the balanced influence between the principles of global health and the ODA. This paper is exploring relationship between the aid to health and the total ODA, in terms of rationales and motivation of aid, structural environment, governance, and implementation. Currently the aid to health is analyzed to be not fully harmonized with generic principles of global health. To some extent it shares the principles and practice with the Korean ODA, not always complying with widely accepted principles of development cooperation. Mutual understanding and reinforcement in a positive way is to be strengthened.
